Encouraging member awareness and participation in legislative and political activities is one of the foremost goals of the Government Affairs Committee. Some of the activities include conducting candidate interviews at local and state levels, making recommendations for support and endorsement, raising funds and increasing awareness about the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC), and monitoring legislative issues which have a potential affect on the real estate business and private property rights. For the 2002 year, this committee will participate in MAR Legislative Day, coordinate a series of legislative breakfasts, and select the recipient of the "REALTOR® Active in Politics Award."
